She works at a Secondary Vocational School, where she teaches subject disciplines related to horticultural production, mainly floriculture, flower arranging, and both theory and practice. She participates in the ERASMUS+ program, preparing mobilities abroad for students each year. She has participated in mobility several times as an accompanying teacher, in job shadowing, and in various courses. She regularly prepares students for national and international competitions in flower arranging. The year 2024 has been successful for her, as a student from her school became the junior champion of Slovakia.

Dr. Sabina Šegula, a Master florist, is a renowned expert in horticulture, floristry, and marketing, specializing in wedding decorations. With over 25 years of experience in education, she has set high standards in her field. Since 2011, she has been active in the international floristry association FlorCert and holds a license to conduct FlorCert international exams.

In 2019, she founded the private school Floweracademy.si, where she merges tradition, innovation, and exceptional expertise. As a scientific researcher in horticulture and marketing, she actively collaborates on international projects and regularly publishes professional articles and books. She facilitates advanced professional education programs both in Slovenia and abroad. Her work has made a significant contribution to the advancement of floristry and the decorative arts. 

As an interesting fact, since 2011, she has been involved in the Easter and Christmas decorations of St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican. In recent years, she has also personally designed the conceptual plans for these decorations. 

Lucas Jansen has 40 years of experience in education in the (international) floriculture chain in the field of assortment knowledge, quality, chain knowledge, marketing, floristry and account & category management. He teaches courses and organises market research in 29 different countries. Floweracademy.NL is ‘the known business’ for education in the floriculture sector. Meanwhile, the Floweracademy name is also used in Slovenia, Italy and Cambodia.

In the past 20 years, innovative platforms like Floweracademy.TV and the product database InfoFlowersPlants with flower and plant information have been set up.  

Lucas is still full of ambitions & plans to further expand and continuously adapt Floweracademy.NL. He keeps his focus on the flowers & plants sector: around the corner of his home and in the furthest corner of the world.

Matjaž Mastnak, an expert in ornamental plants, is the director of the public institution Arboretum Volčji Potok. After completing his forestry studies, he began his career as a researcher and then joined Arboretum Volčji Potok in 1998. In addition, he is a lecturer at higher vocational schools and an author of expert articles and books. He is also active in the Rose Society of Slovenia, where he participates in organizing events and lectures. He is the author of numerous scripts for children’s programs and a lecturer at professional meetings both at home and abroad.

She is an experienced educator with over 20 years of experience in the Serbian education system. Since 2012, she has specialized in floral art, combining academic theory with practical application to inspire and empower students. Her expertise has taken her across the EU – Croatia, Slovenia, Italy, France, and the Netherlands, where she has participated in prestigious competitions, festivals, and international events.

She proudly holds the FlorCert – Flower Academy certificate (phases 1 and 2) and the international florist certificate (Kalfa). Under the mentorship of Master florist Dr. Sabina Šegula, she is striving to achieve the Master Florist certification according to EU standards, which ensures expertise in global florist education.
